Editions

As Zō Atelier grows, our vision extends beyond creating refined game objects — we aim to build a meaningful platform for artistic collaboration and creative exchange. Through the Zō Atelier — Editions program, we will invite contemporary artists to reinterpret the mahjong tile system through a minimalist, design-forward lens, transforming each release into a collectible expression of art, play, and craftsmanship.

Every edition will be developed in close collaboration with a selected artist and released as part of a limited, numbered production run. Each collection will feature a distinct tile composition unique to that artist’s perspective, accompanied by a signed authentication card from both the artist and founder, reinforcing the collectible nature of the work within the broader Zō Atelier system.

More than a product collaboration, Editions is intended to create long-term, meaningful engagement with the artist community — offering creatives a new medium for expression while sharing in the success of each release through royalties and dedicated brand features across Zō Atelier platforms.

At its core, Editions reflects our belief that everyday objects can also serve as enduring artistic artifacts.

In parallel, the Play Forward initiative extends the product into spaces where connection and presence are especially meaningful. A portion of production is dedicated to placing mahjong sets within community and wellness-centered environments that encourage shared experience, conversation, and human connection.
